Secondary Education Activities

Colour your nursery Rhyme.
The group leader writes a short nursery rhyme (e.g. " London Bridge is falling down", "Hokey-Pokey", "Little Jack Horner", "Little Miss Muffet") on the board. The leader then reads the rhyme in a variety of ways, and the group repeats and imitates each time, in chorus. Sample ways of reading include: suspensefully, angrily, sadly, suspiciously, in a depressed manner, happily, like a TV newscaster, as a rock song, in a operatic voice, very softly, very loudly, rap,...etc.You can adapt the game for Primary children too.

Madrid: Bilingual Searching
II Congreso Internacional sobre Enseñanza Bilingüe en la Comunidad de Madrid
The last days 20th, 21st and 22nd October there was the II International Conference of Bilingual Teaching in Madrid.
As an European Country, Spain is on the side to improve the Language Business as a way of communication developing a Bilingual Programme in its schools around all the community.
Politicians, teachers, searchers and also students, are showing a great effort to become a competent society.
We all want to promote the Bilingual system as a tool to open the European Doors of Work.
These Doors are Jobs, Studies, Searchings...and the free business between Spain and the European Union.
We are working to improve the way of communication in other languages such as English, German and French.
In Madrid there are now 276 Primary Schools and 64 High Schools in which the Bilingual Programme is now working. For the next academic course there will be 21 more Primary Schools and 16 High Schools in our community.
We must be proud of our efforts but we have not to forget that this is a dificult task and we all have to work together.
The II CIEB is an oppportunity to learn and share our knowledge.
We must improve the AICOLE/AICLE method in our classes just to risk the success.
Here we can visit some links in which you can listen some of the great specialists in the Bilingual searching.

AICOLE Vs AICLE--------CLIL
The CLIL concept has been changed in those days. What spanish teachers know as AICOLE (Aprendizaje Integrado del Contenido y la Lengua) now is known as AICLE.
The definition is the absolutely the same.
So, Why do we change it?

Success in AICLE

A good way to start!
One of the activities that I enjoy the most is :
Each day a new word A good way to start every day at school is to learn a new word. Write the word in a big coloured card and show it to the class. Write the word in the IDB or in the traditional board. Use different colours and types.
Mimic the meaning of the word. Ask some children to help you mimic the word.
Children were excited to guess what is it and they won't forget it. Reward the child who guess the word.
P.e. Hug. (It's easy...Try it and check the results!)
